ABOUT ME

Painting has been a profound interest to me since childhood. Born in Calgary, Alberta, I began painting signs and murals at the early age of 12. Throughout school my skills continued to develop through art classes and self study. Realism and comic illustration using pencil and ink were two of my favorite things to do.

In 1992 I went to study at Alberta College of Art and Design to learn more on how to make the most of my talent. In 1998 I decided to change gears and realized that technology is important to the future of art. I attended Applied Multimedia Training Center in Calgary to upgrade.

Finding a new passion for visual art. Over the next 9 years I worked in the 3D industry using Maya and Max to develop video games at Electronic Arts Canada. There I worked as an entry level artist and went on to leading art teams and recruiting artists internationally. During this time I also worked on films doing playback and commercial 3D work.

My passion for art has a never ending battle to aim for perfection of beauty and bringing fascination to the people who see my pieces. I started airbrushing a few years ago to help speed up my miniature painting and to venture more into mural painting and faux finishing.

In 2006, I went to explore modern figurative art painting. In most of my work, the sophisticated beauty of a woman’s face appears to be an elemental figure. I use acrylic paints and gels on canvas, often layered with sprayed or airbrushed transparent colour to achieve desired texture and effects. As with much of my work, fascination remains an underlying theme. I am also expanding my style in painting by working on scenery, nature and comic subjects. My artistic talent is now starting to be recognized and my work has been exhibited at various art shows and opening receptions across Vancouver and the Lower Mainland, B.C.
